HEY!!! HI I am still here!!

Helllooooo to you all~ Especially Gretchen! I am alive and well. Busy as all get out with the shows being weekend after weekend. I am learning a ton about saying no and recognizing that I can be spread way to thin. I am living it.  I am so flattered that you all love my bags and patterns and I am happy to report that I have said no to tons of the smaller events that are presenting themselves ans sticking to my game plan of 2 great shows at most in a month and then getting all out prepared for them. That being said I will have development time for the many patterns that are tucked away in my notebook. I am working on fabric design and who knows when that will come to light. I was to spread thin and I am back on track. 

The next show that I will be at is scheduled for this weekend. Nov 1st and 2nd. Here is the blurb form the Briar patch :O) If you live closer to that event I hope to see you there. PLEASE MENTION THAT YOU READ THE BLOG! I JUST LOVE TO MEET YOU ALL!!

Public Service Announcement~

Remember that shopping for personal treasures and gifts for others  from local artists not only helps us to stay home and be so creative but many of us have little ones who are now not sitting in daycare because of you. God gave my children to me and I do not want someone else to teach them manners and life coping skills. It is my privilege to help them grow. Crafters and artists and many times not ever looking to "get rich" but to have a little extra and the time to be good parents and role models. Thank you tons and tons for shopping handmade :O) 

Green living for Cats!

So I am not a huge cat person but my very best friend is and one of the things I love to promote is frugal living as well as green living. This really caught me eye and I hope you follow the link and poke around because Allie's Answers  has a ton of great life changing tips (If you let them)

Home made cat litter~

1. Shred newspaper in a paper shredder. I collect the shredded paper in an unused litter box.
2. Soak the paper in warm water mixed with a few squirts gentle, biodegradable dish soap (like Ecover). The shredded paper takes on a cooked oatmeal consistency. The paper won’t come completely clean, but the water will turn grey.
3. Drain the water (an old colander works wonders) and repeat the soaking process minus the soap.
4. Sprinkle baking soda liberally on the wet paper. Knead it in to the mixture (you might want to wear gloves to avoid getting ink on your hands).
5. Squeeze the remaining moisture out until it’s as dry as you can get it.
6. Crumble over a screen and leave to dry (it takes a few days).

Once it’s dry, I put about an inch and a half to two inches of the paper crumbles in the litter box, scoop solids daily and change it once a week. It takes about a half an hour to 45 minutes to make a 2-3 week supply of litter, and it’s kind of fun, in an elementary school art project way.
